Pikes Peak International Hill Climb – Practice Day Four – Lower Section

This is the longest and fastest section of the race course. We aren’t able to get as many practice runs in, but we got a better idea of how we’re stacking up with the rest of the bikes as everyone was running transponders to record qualifying times. We’re pleased to see that we’re running faster times than most of the bikes out there. Like last year, we’re about middle of the pack, beating out about half the gas bikes. We’d hoped for better, hopefully race day will tell a different story. Although we are the only electric motorcycle competing in the production class, it appears our experience has given us an edge as our times show we’re besting the prototype electric bikes on the mountain. After practice, we went to Fan Fest, a festival held in Downtown Colorado Springs to celebrate the Hill Climb. As the Fastest Qualifier in our class we were obligated to spend the afternoon showing off the bike and talk to all the fans which we are always excited to do. It was great to see how the racers and spectators have taken notice of our presence. You can tell they’re impressed!
