Ride your bike at ReFuel Races

One of our favorite All-Electric Events is coming up soon, namely the annual ReFuel Races at Laguna Seca on Sunday, June 30! Hosted by Speed Ventures, this event is an opportunity for anyone, of any skill level, to join the EV Ride on their Electric Motorcycle or Electric Car on one of the most iconic race tracks of all time: Laguna Seca in Monterey! Not only fun for Riders and Drivers, this daylong event allows fellow EV enthusiasts to commune, discuss, and generally extol the virtues of their shared love for All Electric Vehicles!

Though many of you have joined us on one of our Hollywood Electrics Monthly Group Rides around town, riding on a professional race track for the first time can understandably be a daunting proposition. However, I encourage everyone to experience this as it is actually the safest place you could ever ride your motorcycle. No cars, no pedestrians, and no unexpected debris means for possibly the first time ever, you can focus solely on the ride. The track is a controlled environment that was specifically designed with safety in mind when traveling at high speeds.

To ensure a safe event, there is a rider’s meeting in the morning that will explain all the safety protocols to every rider and educate them on the multi-colored flags that the turn workers use to communicate with riders. A safety inspection list is provided to verify that every motorcycle is safe to ride and that the gear the rider is wearing will protect the rider in case of an incident. Snell rated helmets and full motorcycle leathers are compulsory, but don’t be discouraged if you don’t have these items as we can help you either borrow a set or acquire a set of your own. Hollywood Electrics can also perform a safety check of your motorcycle and gear, and make any recommendations prior to the event to ensure you make the most of it when you get there.

Lastly, for those of you that don’t have a truck or trailer to haul your bikes up, we will also be helping with motorcycle transportation arrangements to and from the track. We can also help you coordinate a carpool to Laguna Seca and even a hotel roommate to split the costs amongst other Hollywood Electrics Riders.
